How Many Sundays Until Christmas?

Counting Sundays on the way to Christmas

Sundays offer a calm weekly marker as Christmas approaches. For families who plan meals, visits or church events by the week, the number of Sundays left can be easier to picture than the full number of calendar days. It also fits naturally with Advent, whose Sundays form part of the traditional preparation for Christmas.

The date list lets you see those weekly markers without opening a separate calendar. You can quickly spot the next Sunday and the final Sunday before Christmas.

How the Sunday total is calculated

The page counts every Sunday from today's date through Christmas Day. When today is Sunday, today is included. When Christmas falls on Sunday, Christmas Day is included too. The count follows the local date on your device and updates at midnight, so it stays in step with where you are. After Christmas begins, it automatically looks ahead to the next Christmas.
